Cadence Park PTSA is hosting a special evening focused on learning about adolescence, puberty, and growing up, designed to celebrate this important stage of development in a supportive and informative way.
This combined male and female adolescence celebration will begin together in the auditorium, followed by separate breakout sessions focused on male and female bodies.
A trusted adult of any gender is welcome and encouraged to attend alongside their student. This event is designed to be shared and to help support ongoing conversations at home.
Suggested grade levels:
- Female adolescence session: Grades 4–6
- Male adolescence session: Grades 5–7
- That said, families are encouraged to attend if they feel their child would benefit, regardless of grade level.
In a comfortable and relaxed environment, participants will be guided through a learning experience that:
- Eases anxieties about puberty
- Empowers students to understand and embrace physical and emotional changes
- Helps initiate honest, healthy, and ongoing conversations between students and their trusted adults
These presentations will be facilitated by our own Cadence Park teachers:
- Liz Purpura, Middle School Science & Art
- Reed Buck, Middle School Science & Health
Please note:
-
Light dinner will be provided. UPDATE: Dinner will now be served from 6:45–7:15 PM to better accommodate our community members observing Ramadan.
- Goodie bags with personal hygiene items will be provided to all students in attendance.
We look forward to sharing this meaningful and affirming experience with our students and families.
