The Program

We are partnered with Kids Run the OC, a program designed by the OC Marathon committee. They provide a curriculum that includes active games, nutrition challenges, and race training. Students in grades K-3 must have an adult in attendance during practices. The program is divided into two semesters—Fall and Spring.

    • Fall Program: This program includes 6 practices begininning Friday, October 18th and leading up to the race on Saturday, December 14th. See schedule below for Fall dates.
    • Spring Program: This program includes 12 practices beginning Friday, January 31st and leading up to the race on Saturday, May 3rd. See schedule below for Spring dates.

The Races:

We have two race that we will run this year. The first race, called Run For A Claus, is in December and is held at UC Irvine. The second race, called Kids Run the OC, is in May and is held at the OC Fair Grounds. Each student will need to be registered for these races. We will update this page as registration links and more info on each race become available. All participants will receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt. There is a registration fee for these races. Please let us know if you need financial assistance to participate.

Calling All Volunteers!

Our Puma Run Club thrives because of the incredible support from our parent volunteers. Whether you can spare a little time or a lot, there’s a role for everyone:

• Practice Helpers: Assist coaches with warm-ups, activities, and keeping our runners motivated.

• Administrative Support: Help with managing attendance, tracking progress, and prepping race info

• Race Day Heroes: Provide healthy snacks to fuel our athletes or simply helping ensure everything runs smoothly on race day.

Your involvement makes a big difference, and it’s a great way to connect with other families while supporting our kid. Please fill out our volunteer form: https://forms.gle/Z27QXFTveM4zZmT29

Run For A Claus 2024 Recap

We wrapped up our Fall Run Club season in style at the Run For A Claus race this past Saturday! With 47 kids and 25 adults signed up, it was a fantastic turnout. The day was filled with holiday cheer as we kicked things off with a group photo with Santa and warm cups of hot chocolate.

The race itself was a huge success—our Pumas ran with so much heart, and the smiles on their faces said it all. Families had a blast running together, making it a truly special way to celebrate the end of the season.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this incredible day.

Kids Run The OC 2025 Recap

It was a cold, wet morning on May 3rd — but our Pumas showed up fired up and ready to run! Every single one of our runners crushed the Kids Run the OC course, all finishing with times under 15 minutes. Our fastest Puma, Ryan Lim, even placed second in his heat — incredible!

But the excitement didn’t stop there. Five Pumas took on the 5K, and they ran it like true teammates: pacing together, lifting each other up, and making sure everyone crossed that finish line with a smile. And then there was Edward — our powerhouse Puma who tackled the half marathon on Sunday. Not only did he conquer the race, but he crushed it with an impressive average pace of 11:25 per mile over 13.1 miles!

We’re already hearing buzz about even more Pumas stepping up to the 5K next fall and spring — the energy, determination, and love for running just keeps growing. 🏅💜
